Buying or selling on the Costa del Sol

Dutch Property Management helps second-home owners on the Costa del Sol with buying and selling, through trusted partners such as Arno at Costa Estates.

Thinking about buying a second home here, or ready to sell the one you have? We're happy to help you on your way, from that very first question to introductions to the right people: an estate agent, a lawyer, a notary.

For buying and selling, we work with agents we trust ourselves, such as Arno at Costa Estates. We bought two apartments on the Costa del Sol through him, both times to our full satisfaction, and we're glad to introduce our owners to him directly.

Buying, in short

New build or resale, the path is a little different. Our partners have access to both, and will advise you on which fits your plans.

New build

1

Search & viewings

Explore developments off-plan or under construction.

2

Reservation

A reservation fee secures your unit at a fixed price. Our partners note that negotiating on new builds is hardly ever possible.

3

Staged payments

You pay in instalments as construction progresses.

4

Completion at the notary

Once built, you pay the balance and receive the keys.

Resale

1

Search & viewings

View a shortlist of existing homes that match your wishes.

2

Offer & negotiation

Your agent submits an offer and negotiates the price on your behalf.

3

Private contract & deposit

Typically a 10% deposit on signing, after due diligence by your lawyer.

4

Completion at the notary

You pay the balance and taxes, then the property is registered.

Once the keys are yours, that's where we come in. Dutch Property Management takes care of your new home from day one, with property checks, key holding and guest support, so it's ready whenever you are.

Selling, in short

1

Valuation

Your agent assesses your home and advises on an achievable asking price.

2

Listing & marketing

Professional photos and a listing on the major property portals.

3

Offer & negotiation

Your agent presents offers from interested buyers and negotiates on your behalf.

4

Completion at the notary

Final payment and taxes are settled, and the sale is registered.

Does Dutch Property Management sell property itself?
No. We're a property management company, not a real estate agency. For buying and selling on the Costa del Sol, we connect you with trusted real estate agents, and stay involved once the keys are yours.
Do I need an NIE number to buy property in Spain?
Yes, every foreign buyer needs a Spanish NIE (tax identification) number to purchase property. Your lawyer can normally arrange this for you as part of the buying process.
